Emily Rapport studied painting at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, and received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2018, her work was included in the Rockford Art Museum Biennial and the Evanston Art Center Biennial. Emily opened Eat Paint Studio that same year, a storefront studio and gallery intended to “broaden the experience of art”. The gallery is open to the public, Thursday through Saturday, noon – 5pm, and by appointment.
Inspired by the urban landscape of Chicago, I paint vacant lots, El tracks, neighborhood houses, fast food restaurants, and construction sites.
